Jan de Jong

Entrepreneur, investor & digital nomad visa champion in Croatia

About Jan

Jan de Jong moved to Croatia in 2006 at age 22 when he founded M+ Group. Today, M+ Group has a listing on the Zagreb Stock Exchange and employs over 8.000 people across the region. After he made his successful exit from M+ Group in 2016, he founded Webpower Adria – the first company in the region specialising in email marketing automation.

He has since become a father of 4, and a household name – championing the digital nomad visa in Croatia, to make this one of the most attractive places on the planet to live the remote work lifestyle.

Dutch-Croatian relationship

With his new venture, CROP – he aims to bring Dutch state-of-the-art greenhouse technology to Croatia. Where Croatia used to produce enough food to feed an entire region, today Croatia does not produce enough food to feed its own population. Jan sees an opportunity for Croatia to start feeding Europe by making large investments in agriculture technology.

With his roots in the Netherlands, but his heart in Croatia – Jan is a strong believer that positive change in Croatia will not come from politics but will come from its entrepreneurs – and he is a proud member of that exciting community.

When people ask him what kind of business he is in, he answers: I am in the business of preparing Croatia for the next generation.
